Cucumber Sunomono Salad

We've all had that mouth watering cucumber salad at restaurants. Have you tried the cucumber salad at Din Tai Fung? Ah, so of my favorites. So naturally, I decided to recreate the delicious cucumber sunomono salad right at home. It tasted amazing! If you're interested to see what I did, then read on :)


+ 4 cucumbers

+ 3 tbsp Soy Sauce (add more for desired taste)

+ 2 tsp Rice Vinegar

+ 2 tbsp Tasted Sesame Oil

+ Salt

+ Sesame Seeds (organic or black sesame seeds)


  1. Slice cucumbers into very thin slices. Add to bowl. Add salt and toss, allowing it to all soak in.

  2. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, and toasted sesame oil, and sesame seeds to your bowl; mix thoroughly. And voila, you're done!

Feel free to add more (or less) to your mixture to achieve your desired taste. You got this!
