Instagram- Apps for Editing

Updated: Jul 12, 2020

Hey there! I'm here to share all the apps I use to edit my photos for Instagram. You do not need to be an expert to up your IG game. Alright, let's get those creative juices flowing!

(needless to say, you can find these apps on the App Store ✌ )

Apps for Editing

+Lightroom

I love this app for so many reasons! It's my ride or die, since day one. It allows you to have more control over the editing process. Tweak the lighting, color, effects, details, optics, and so much more. The Lightroom App will become your best friend. Don't let it scare you, play around with it and you'll get the hang of it. I love that Lightroom allows you to customize the HSL (Hue, Saturation, and Luminance) per color. So for example, if you want to enhance the blue sky in your photo, you'd select 'blue' in the color mix and play around until you achieve your desired outcome; no other colors within your photo will be touched/changed. Whereas in most apps, when playing with the hue/saturation, it will effect the entire photo instead of targeting the blue sky.

Bonus: Go the extra mile and download Lightroom on your Desktop and thank me later. Keep in mind, to download this, you will need to sign up for a $9.99 monthly charge.

+Tezza App

I've been using the Tezza App for editing and I love it oh so much! She's a content creator and photographer, so I knew this app was going to be awesome. Check out her Instagram page here if you haven't heard of Tezza.

You can edit both videos and photos within this app. She has a variety of beautiful presets you can easily click and use to transform your photo. The app allows you to go even further. You can tweak and customize your photo...woohoo! Go Tezza! Adjust your exposure, brightness, contrast, saturation, highlights, temperature, shadows, and HSL. The app also gives you the option to add grain to your photo plus so many dust effects.

You can also add subtitles, different frames, or make your projects shimmy! Yep, I said shimmy.

This app goes one step further and allows you to 'copy' an edit and paste it to another photo. This will help keep your Instagram feed aesthetically pleasing.

This really is a one stop shop for all editing purposes. Highly recommend! I cannot say it enough, I love this app.

+Photoshop Express

I can assure you I am not an expert when it comes to Photoshop. Definitely something I would like to work on and learn a bit more. In the meantime, I use this app for small fixes. You can also add overlays and create collages.

+RNI Films

I use this app particularly for adding effects such as the grain and dust effect. There are many apps you can use to insert these effects, however I personally like RNI films if I want that vintage look to my photos.

+VCSO

If you're indecisive, good luck with this app because it has SO MANY presets for you to pick through! Whether it's a photo or video you're in need of editing, VSCO is your one stop shop. With just one click, and BOOM! You have a well edited photo. The hardest part is picking your favorite preset. Once you have that down, life will be simpler with VSCO.

Just upload your photo, scroll to your favorite preset, and voila. One, two, three and done,

+PicsArt

The possibilities are endless with PicsArt. It allows you to create beautiful and unique projects.

From countless number of tools, effects, and stickers to apply to your photo or video. Go ahead, explore the app and I bet you'll love it too.

Bonus: There are templates you can use!

+Retouch This app is awesome if you need to remove an object within your photo. It's quick and easy, definitely recommend.

Instagram Story Apps

Spice up your stories with these apps! So many templates to pick and create with.
